This quote means that the choices we make today will affect us in the future. I read a story once about a man who was on his way to work. There was a man in a big rush behind him who shoved him and told him the 'F' word. When the man got to his offices he started interviewing people for a new position at his office. The first person to walk in for an interview was the same man he had seen earlier in the day. He interviewed the man and he knew he wasn't going to hire him. If this man had politely asked the interview to get out of his way instead of being rude he probably would have been hired.

Duties and Responsibilities: Editors are responsible for editing different types of writings. For example they may edit articles books and other materials. They make them easier to read. They can work for magazines, newspapers, and publishing companies. Some may be employed by a specific company and some are freelance. They have to fix any grammatical, punctuation, and spelling mistakes. They also must double checks facts and other information.

Education: A bachelors degree in English, journalism, or any other degree similar to those
Reflection:I would enjoy doing this but this job seems like it can be tedious at times.

This has a lot to do with goals. For example if you don't make any goals you won't be able to imagine your future. If you never tell yourself you want to graduate and have that mental image in your head of you in a cap and gown you will never be able to do it. Your future is as big as you dream. If you tell yourself you want to be a writer or an engineer you have to bust your butt off to achieve that goal and only then will you  be able to achieve the greatness you are setting yourself up to. 

Bless You

Bless you is a term used after someone sneezes that started in Rome where the people would say "Jupiter preserve you" or "Salve" which means "Good health to you". Meanwhile the Greeks would wish one another a long life. Then during the bubonic plague in the sixth century Pope Gregory the Great would tell people "God bless you" because sneezing was a symptom of the plague.

Rachel Castillo

A women named Rachel Castillo was raised Christian. She was always taught that she shouldn't steal or lie so of course when she found $36,000 she returned. She stated that that was about the amount of her yearly income working at the golf course where she found money. She could have done anything with that money but decided to do what was right and give it to it's rightful owner, a 76 year old man who resided in a living facility and may also have health issues. The money was confirmed to be his through a series of transactions.

This statement means what it says which is basically do the right thing. If you are a good person of integrity with a good conscience you will know when you are facing the difficulty of something good or bad. The wrong path may be ten times easier as the right path but that shouldn't matter. You should always choose the right side because it may take a lot more time to accomplish this task but at least you know in your heart that you didn't cheat your way to it. At the end of the day those that chose the wrong will be punished and you will be rewarded for doing the right thing.

Health Information Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities: Health Information Specialists work with coding. The work with the medical data created by the doctors. They must have basic knowledge computer software, medical terminology, and database fundamentals. They also have to know about data entries and retrieval. They are responsible for maintaining administrative data and maintaining the integrity of the records.
Salary: $35,000
Education: Health Information Specialists do not require more than a high school diploma although some positions may require an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
Reflection: I don't think I would enjoy this career because of how little they get payed and I don't enjoy coding.

Pay it Foward

This little boy named Miles found a 20 on the floor of a crackle barrel. Instead of keeping the money for himself he gave it to a soldier. He gave it to a soldier, Daily, because he reminded him of his father, Andy, who died when he was only 5 weeks old. This boy should honor by paying it forward to the soldier who he didn't know. Many people wold have easily kept this money and spent it on a treat or a game.

Student Success Statement: Alexander Pope

"Act well your part; there all honor lies."

This quote means that you must do right on your part. Once you do this you will have honor. Honor is what people should be seeking in the work, not fame nor fortune. Seeking all of these unnecessary thing is the root to this problem.

To have honor you must tell the truth and be kind to others. If you do this you will have a clear consciences.

Environmental Health Speacialist

Duties and responsibilities: Environmental Scientists find environmental problems using data they have collected and try to find a solution. For example they clean up polluted lakes or lands. This particular specialist studies the environment and how it effects humans. They investigate possible health risks such as soil or water contamination caused by the manufacturing of nuclear weapons.
Salary: $63,570
Education: A bachelor's degree in environmental science
Reflection: I don't think I would enjoy doing this as cool as it may sound because although I do find this career interesting I don't think I'd enjoy being an environmental Health Specialist

"Right is tight only when entire."

This means that when you do something right you have to do the whole thing right for it to be considered right. Say for example you have a test. The question you are struggling to answer is worth four points. You only answer two parts of that question right and you don't get any points for it. You can't go and complain about your score because you didn't answer the whole thing. Another example of this is when you cheat on a test. If the teacher catches you cheating he or she will have to give you a 0 for lying.

This is very true. If you go around dancing through life with no care in the world one day that will catch up to you. A life without goals is meaningless. The goals you set for yourself can be anything from getting a job to doing things you never thought you'd be able to do. Goals give life hope. My mother never had goals because she never thought she'd be able to reach them. She decided to leave her country and came to America in search of goals. Although she did not reach her goals she hopes that with her help her children will reach their own goals like the ones she was never able to dream of.

History of Basketball

Who invented basketball?

It is believed to first have been played by the Olmec about 500 years ago as well as the Aztecs and Mayans who both had their own version of basketball. The first true basketball game was played by Dr. James Naismith.

Where?

The Olmecs, who played about 500 years ago, were from Mexico. When Naismith created it, it was played in Springfield, Massachusetts.

When?

January 20, 1892

How?

Naismith wrote down 13 rules that have since been changed.

Why?

Naismith needed a winter sport to play in the YMCA.

What was it like at the start?

Instead of the caurts used now a days before all they had was a peach basket that where they would have to remove the ball from it manually.

Basketball is now very different than when it was first created. For instances the hoop is no longer a peach basket. Also the rules have been changed or removed. What was once 13 rules is now 8 rules.

Veterinarian

Duties and Responsibilities: Veterinarians are animal doctors. They do the same things normal doctors do, but on animals for example the give animals their correct shots. They operate on them if necessary.

Education: Veterinarians have to go to a special four year veterinary school.
Reflection: I wouldn't enjoy this career because I don't think the pay is good enough. Also I don't like animals.

When I think of this all I think about is telenovelas. There is always a good hearted yet poor heroine who can’t seem to catch a break meanwhile there is a cruel and rich antagonist who seems to have everything the heroine deserves. These telenovelas always end with the death of the antagonist and the heroine gets to “live.” She gets family and love. I feel that like these telenovelas this quote is hopeful for what could happen; how life will reward you for causing no malice.

Western Medicine Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities: Western Medicine Doctors practice a more orthodox version of medicine. This means that they use treatments used by the majority of people. These treatments include surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, etc. These types of practitioners include doctors, nurses, physical therapists.
Salary: $305,677
Education: Since there are many different types of western medicine doctors the education varies.
Reflection: I think I would prefer this job over an eastern medicine doctor although i do respect what they. The reason is that I feel western medicine is more precise.
