Interdisciplinary Project

When I found out we were doing the interdisciplinary project I was a bit disappointed because I never enjoyed it out of the two semesters we had done it previously. We started off by being put into groups. I was grouped with Eric, Desteny, Isaac, and Verenice. Together we picked the topic Hemophilia. As a group we decided the the essential question and thesis. With all that set we then wrote an essay that I edited and used the essay as the backbone to our power point for the actual presentation. We spent very little time on our interdisciplinary in our classes except for English which took up a lot of learning time. They day of the presentation I felt like I wasn't prepared at all because of my nervousness. I found myself forgetting everything that was on my power point so I had to read my power point a few times to get it right. The presentation was overall more simple than I thought it would be. It was only about five minutes and once I was up in the room doing the actual presentation my nervousness drained. I thought it was very helpful that my mother was there and I wasn't the only one nervous. If I were to do this all over again I wouldn't  be as nervous because I know what to expect and it was easier than everyone made it seem.
There were many good things about this project and bad things.
Pros:
  1. It provided us with an example to how a professional presentation with future employers might be.
  2. We were evaluated by real professionals to tell us how we did
  3. Taught us how to work with people we are not used to working with
  4. It gave people the opportunity to improve their grades in their core classes
Cons:
  1. We spent too much class time on this project when we could have learned
  2. It was too close to finals
  3. It was too stressful
